If you knew my battles

If you knew my battle would you stop and see,

If the tears I am crying are for you or me?

If you knew my fears would you open your arms,

to embrace our friendship and keep away what harms?

If you knew I was hungry, not just for food,

would you break bread with me and lighten the mood?

If I prayed at night for the hate to cease,

would you say prayers too for all world peace?

If I felt alone with not a thing to do,

would you pick up the phone and say “I love you”?

Remember I have my battles and you have yours,

Iv’e decided to leave mine at heaven’s doors!
