Send Us Butterflies

butterflies

As I held her hand and said goodbye

I tried my best not to cry

The tears came rolling down my face

As I quietly asked to see God’s Grace

Fear filled her eyes as she began to see

God and Family were surrounding thee

Both hands together, we held them tight

Each breath she took, took all her might

God placed his hands between our palms

And I could feel the room begin to calm

She slowly started to slip away

With every breath I began to say

Mom, go be at peace as you are loved

by all those here and those above

Go be at peace and take God’s hand

Let him bring you forth and reveal his plan

Mom, hug my Dad and hold him tight

Let the fear you feel take its flight

And when you and Dad see us cry

Send us butterflies and we’ll know why!
